A team of 30 Christians from Kampala has completed a medical camp in Moroto town where they treated several people as part of their contribution towards the transformation of Karamoja district.
The group was from the Deliverance and Full Gospel Pentecostal Churches. The team, led by Pastor Fred Wantate and Pastor Charles Obwana, included a doctor, an optician, a dentist, nurses, clinic assistants, HIV counsellors and evangelists. They were in Moroto from October 14 to 17.

They attended to 320 optical patients, 95 of whom received reading glasses. They also handled 48 dental cases and gave voluntary HIV counselling and testing to 155 people.
A total of 560 people turned up for free medical consultation and treatment of common diseases including malaria, urinary tract infections, skin diseases and malnutrition.

The team also distributed clothes and shoes, which were donations by Christians from Kampala to Karimojong children and youth. While at Moroto prisons, they delivered soap, drugs and a cow.
Meeting the team at Morulinga in Napak district on 0ctober 15, Karamoja state minister and First Lady Janet Museveni said every Ugandan has a duty to reclaim and transform Karamoja.

Pastor Wantate from Makerere Full Gospel Church thanked Mrs. Museveni, International Hospital, TASO Mulago-Mbarara teaching hospitals, Joint AIDS Programme, and the Malaysian Furnishing Company for supporting their mission, which he said, would become a regular exercise.
